Charlene Dolan is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^TM professional and investment adviser representative of Commonwealth Financial Network, a registered investment adviser. A general securities representative, Charlene is also a licensed health and life insurance agent and has made Amesbury her home since 1981.

Prior to establishing Dolan Financial Services, Charlene was Vice President of The Provident Bank in Amesbury, providing financial planning and investment services to clients of the bank's advisory practice.  Charlene has also held a supervisory position within the shareholder services division at Putnam Investments and as a 401(k) plan administrator with Scudder Investments.  Charlene transitioned to the mutual fund industry following eight years of tax preparation work with families and small businesses. 

A Transition

Charlene began her professional career in health care, focusing on utilization review and regional health care planning. In the early '80s, she was employed at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute researching health care legislation and public policy issues for the Regional Cancer Control Program. Charlene then became licensed as a nursing home administrator and managed a 120-patient Medicare skilled-nursing facility.

This experience in health care and long-term care provides a unique point of reference when addressing client questions and concerns regarding risk management, disability and long-term care planning. Charlene's tax background enables her to raise pertinent questions and to anticipate questions/issues. 

Charlene Dolan takes a holistic approach to addressing the needs of clients working closely with business and estate planning attorneys, accountants and tax professionals, and property and casualty insurance agents.


Professional and Volunteer Affiliations

A member of the Financial Planning Association, Charlene serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the YWCA Greater Newburyport and offers financial literacy workshops for the YWCA and the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center.  Charlene is also a member of the Rotary Club of Amesbury and the Whittier Home Association.
